Rescheduled Annual Meeting-Tuesday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m.

Dear Elysian Community,
Because of the snow day, our Annual Meeting has been rescheduled. It will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 5:30 p.m. Please make every effort to attend! We are starting a little early to accommodate parents who want to attend the 5th (at 6:45 p.m.) and 6th (at 7:45 p.m.) grades championship basketball games!
By now you should have received Sample Ballots as well as the bio’s of all of the nominees running for seats in the upcoming Board Election on Tuesday, March, 21st.
Please note the ballots you’ve received in the mail are just Sample Ballots.
Our Annual Meeting begins at 5:30 PM in the Gymnasium. Come out to receive your official ballot and cast your votes to determine which of the eight candidates running for five spots will be the new Board Members. All candidates will have an opportunity to speak with the audience. This is the most important meeting of the year, and our bylaws require a 70 member quorum for the vote to count, so please come out to cast your vote. Each family is counted as one member, regardless of how many children they may have enrolled in the school. In addition, all employees of the Elysian Charter School who have been employed for the six months prior to an election are voting members. Once quorum is achieved the voting will begin. Voting will take place for 30 minutes, and then the counting will occur. The winning candidates will be announced that night. While we are waiting for the vote count there will be entertainment–our 3rd grade under the leadership of Aram–and a potluck dinner. We ask everyone to participate and bring items according to your children’s grade:
Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th grades – Entrees
5th grade – Appetizers
6th grades – Salads
7th – 8th grades – Desserts
Water, plates, utensils & napkins will be provided
(Due to a lack of preparation areas, please bring food that is cut and ready to serve!)
Childcare and pizza will be provided. A $5 donation is suggested to cover the cost of pizza; RSVP to Susan Gilbertson in the Elysian office (201-876-0102) so that we can make sure there is enough.
If you cannot attend the Members Meeting, you may vote by absentee ballot from Tuesday, March 7, 2017 until Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Stop by Elysian’s Office between 8 am-4 pm and see Deb Rosner to receive and fill out your official ballot. No absentee ballots will be accepted after 4:00 pm on March 21, 2017. Votes cast by absentee will NOT be counted towards qurom.
